Hour-a-day your way to writing your book. Did you realize that if you write 500 words an hour and gave yourself one hour every day to pursue your passion, you could have a full-length novel or nonfiction book in less than four months?

I know what you're thinking... I can't even find time to shower, how would I find an hour a day for a hobby? Get my FREE download "100 Ways Moms Can Free Up an Hour a Day for Writing" when you sign up below.

My Story

Perhaps one of the biggest stories I ever told myself was that there wasn't enough time in the day to be an author and a mom. Since I can remember, all I ever wanted to do was write books. I knew I wanted to be a mom someday too, but writing novels was at the top of my to-do list.

Then I started dating this super cool guy, with a dimple in one cheek and a great sense of humor and (get this) he also loved reading. So I fell in love and he came with two little cuties in tow. So at 22 I started raising kids. And by the time those littles were in school full-time... guess what happened? I GOT PREGNANT. And less than two years later I did it again. Now, while these four small people are the biggest blessings in my life, raising them into good humans is time-consuming.

So I didn't write. And didn't write. And didn't write. And with that came guilt, resentment, more guilt over the resentment, a feeling of worthlessness, anxiety and depression.

Have you been there? Have you felt that? Do you have a calling that seems to conflict with what your lifestyle currently allows?

I want to help. Genuinely. Writing my first book has changed my life and I want to help you get there too. Whether you're aching to publish a memoir as you fold laundry or spinning the tales of two star-crossed lovers as you scrub bottles, you can get there.

Working moms, moms with one kid, moms with six, WAHMs, SAMHs, thank you ma'ams... however you classify yourself, I promise you there is a way to get that book written. And all the "writers just write" advice in the world is not what's going to get you there.

I remember getting so pissed off every time I read an interview where someone talked about struggling to find time even though they were childless. Or where I'd hear that an author found time to write because their spouse cared for the kids full-time. Or the ones who said they didn't start until their kids were grown. Or the ones who got started before having kids and already had a routine down.

None of those applied to me and I didn't want to wait until one did! Everyone has their own hurdles, but I wasn't hearing from a lot of moms who were making a go of becoming an author while raising small children.

So I had to piecemeal my own plan for pursuing this dream. Through A LOT of trial and error and some serious tears and doubts, I finally got there. And now I have two goals:

  1. Keep writing novels. As many as I can.

  2. Help other moms clear the hurdle that is keeping them from doing the same.

I'll be providing resources, support and encouragement to anyone in the position I was (and still am) in. And as we grow together, I'll also bring my years of publishing expertise along to help you get the book written, and then make it a career!
